Kitanomaru park in Chiyoda ward is very calm and green. It was opened to the public in 1969. The park was a part of Edo Castle, aka Chiyoda Castle, residence of shogun and location of the shogunate.
There are two gates from Edo Castle. We entered the gate called Shimizu-mon ("pure water gate").
Kitanomaru park is also home to the Nippon Budokan.

It is located near Chidorigafuchi, famous spot for hanami. Kitanomaru park and Chidorigafuchi park share the same river.
